How would you have handled this situation?

I've been in Australia for nearly 7 months. Love this place to bits but today an aboriginal (black) girl, whom i never met before stuck a piece of chewing gum in my hair as i walked by her, i'd say she was about 16 - 17 %26amp; i'm 20. I have a semi afro, it gets puffy some times and its tame other times. She was with 4 of her other friends, now i certainly as hell couldn't throw a punch @ her, as much as i'd love to...so guys what would you have done, in my situation?

Kindly notify her of her unkind behavior/act, unless of course you enjoyed the experience, and take it from there!

I'd have bought some chewing gum, got to work on chewing it until it was nice and sticky, and then set out to look for her.

Keep walking, smile to yourself and know in your heart that what goes around, comes around. I sincerely doubt that the fact that she was Aboriginal had as much to do with it as the fact that she was a teenager, and with her "crowd" and trying to show off for them. If you had reacted, it could have become very nasty. By ignoring the action .. you didn't give it any power and therefore you won.

Oh, I'm from Australia :)

same as you would...let t go...

She noticed you.

Did you get the gum out?

Let it go. Maybe the next time you see her

she won't do that, or put your hands over your

head to cover your hair.

I'm sorry that someone did that to you. I work with mostly noongar people I love them dearly and they always get really upset when other noongar people behave like that especially the young ones. Its horrible because it gives an entire race of people a bad name it really is disgusting. Every aboriginal person I know are great people with great jobs and fantastic parents yet majority of Australians don't see them like that because of a loud minority of people who behave like prats.
