First of all, stress, unhappiness, or diet can NOT cause shedding problems. Shedding problems can be avoided by offering a moist box, misting the enclosure once a day, and ensuring that your snake has a water dish he can completely submerge in. When a shedding problem does occur, you can rinse your snake under warm water and gently rub the old skin in a circular motion to loosen it from the body.

From what you described, it sounds like the skin that's left over is what didn't slough off from between the scales. If that is the case, don't worry about it. It'll come off as she crawls thruought her enclosure. If you're worried about it, though, you can rub if off yourself under warm water.

Good luck with your snake, and don't worry, you're doing fine.

You should do two things.

1. Soak her in lukewarm water for about 15 minutes to help the skin come off

2. Place a humid hide in her cage. A plastic tupperware container with some wet moss or paper towels inside. Failure to shed properly is typically a result of too low humidity.

Also, be sure she has a water dish large enough for her to soak in if she chooses to.

Agree with angel. However, try this method, i find it works best:

Get a tank smaller than your snakes usual enclosure but big enough to move around in. Put in about 6 layers of wet kitchen paper and let your snake slither around in there.

Like angel said, stress and diet do not cause shedding problems. Chris C was dead wrong. He obviously knows nothing about it becuase he said you should change the snake's diet. That is simply not possible, they eat rodents and that's it.

Just one more thing, I'd read up on corns a bit more just to make sure your giving yours the bast care possible.

Normally shedding problems occurs due to incorrect environment and humidity levels. There are several ways you can help you snake to shed is skin. Place the snake in a plastic container with warm water for 10 Min's and put straight back into the enclosure. Or get a well dampend towel and put it in a pillow case and place the snake inside and put it in the warm end of the tank for 12hrs this will hep the snake rub off the excess skin. when your snake is getting ready to shed you can see the skin go a little dull and the eyes will go grey. Start to mist the tank daily to increase the humidity. i always mist the tank every other day just to help humidity levels and to ensure the snake is in good condition.
