Hairstyle for homecoming? (Pictures?)?

I know there's a lot of these topics, but I'm looking for specifics...

I'm thinking I want my hair in an up-do like a messy bun, with curl pieces hanging down, and my bangs back in like a poof?

Either that, or my hair curled, and down, with my bangs back in a poof.

I need a picture of one of these two! I can't find a good one anywhere. Step-by-step instructions would be nice as well, because I might do it at home, instead of a salon, but I haven't decided yet...

(My hair is dark brown, a few inches past my shoulder, thick, healthy, with side bangs, if that helps)

i really think that prom hairstyles are so overdone and tacky. you should leave your hair down and wavy
