I am going to a formal dinner/dance on sat and have no idea how t do my hair!!!!! I have just below the shoulder length hair, but it is layered so have a some shorter pieces too, also, I have a fringe which i wear to the side. I was thinking french-roll style, but I don't want to look too 'prom' like! I want a modern look. Any ideas? Oh, and I have to be able to do it myself!!!

do a frenck rool bu instead of pinning the top down, try spiking it up a bit with hairspray. the layers in you hair will really help it spike too!
