ALOT of swimming in gym class questions...?

Ahlrighty. First of all, I hate swimming in school. My first day should be this Thursday, but I've got my period[I'm 15], so I won't be doing that; not to worried on what people think.. I'd like to know where you bought your swimming cap from, and what kind works best, and tighest. I'm wearing a bathing cap underneith a swimming cap because I've got wavy, frizzy hair and I flat iron it every day and very well known for perfect smooth hair. Haha, can't disapoint my fans, lol. Anyways.. I'm also wondering about makeup. I use bronzer, occasionally coverup under my eyes, mascara, and eyeliner on the inside top lid. Do I wear goggles? Also, bathingsuits. I dont have any one pieces, and I'm not buying any. I have no cute guys in my class, so I've got to wear a shirt over. Haha, nooo. Should I wear a shirt over my suit if its bikini? I mean its freshman...

Swim caps are pretty easy to find if you know where to look for them. Some sporting stores will have them but others won't. Sports Authority should have them, I wouldn't try Dick's Sporting Goods but WalMart should have some, you'll just have to do some looking around there.

As for what cap works the best latex is by far the best. Latex caps are waterproof so you don't need to worry about wearing a bathing cap underneath the swimming one.

As for goggles I'm not sure how your makeup will come out when you get out of the water but goggles are still really good to have an in many cases you have to get your eyes in the water if you want to pass for the swimming portion of the class so even without the makeup issue goggles are a good idea. And then hopefully if your mascara and all comes out still intact you'll only really have your base and blush to do with your hair dry from wearing the cap (at least it should but I'm a guy so I barely know anything about makeup).

Lastly with the shirt it's your call on that one. You're not swimming competitively where you're concerned about your times so it shouldn't matter that way and like you said there's no one to really impress if you can't get a one-piece and besides when I did swimming in gym a lot of girls wore shirts over their bikinis, you likely wouldn't be the only girl wearing a shirt.

Really, don't worry about it.

I had to swim for awhile in gym last year, and it's not a big deal. You get used to it. If you're more comfortable that way, wear a shirt. I bet other people will be doing it.

I don't know what to tell you about swim caps, but I know how you feel about the hair.

They will have caps for you to buy. They will not let you wear a two piece, and your period is no excuse to stay out of the water, at least where I went to high school. Your makeup will look like crap after swimming, as will your hair, and you will want to wear goggles. Good luck.

ok im on a serious swim team so i know a lot of this. My swim cap i ordered from my team, and its rubber which is the best kind. I suggest you go to Dick's Sporting Goods to get one. You should deff wear goggles. And about the makeup, it will probably wash off in the water or smudge/run down your face so maybe you should remove it before u swim and then put it back on. and wearing a bikini? ya not gonna work cuz when you dive in it will fall off. you really should get a 1 piece.

good luck hope i helped!

Quit whining and just swim,

besides hair grows back and highschool relationships never mean anything (statistacly)

I would think you are a retard and a wimp if you worry about makeup in a pool

your are the reason why swimming in gym class doesnt turn out to be any think more than hanging out in a pool for a couple of minutes

grow up

ALOT of swimming in gym class questions...?

hey relax and don't worry. first of all, don't worry about your period because i bet at least one other girl has theirs . um, normally the coach gives me a swim cap or you can go to sports shop, like sports authority. either latex or sillicone caps work but sillicone is a lot thicker and easier to rip. it lasts longer. i don't think there's anything you can do about your hair or makeup. sorry. :[

you'll just have to deal with it because you're gonna get wet no matter what. don't worry. yes, you should wear googles otherwise your eyes will hurt from all the water going in. and it's up to you if you wanna wear a shirt or not. relax. there's probably loads of girls with the same situation as you. good luck

k theres no way to avoid wet hair and your makeup is going to come off, get over it. find a cute way to do your hair up after getting it wet and redo your make up. and your going to find out foryourself how hard it is to swim in a shirt.

ALOT of swimming in gym class questions...?

get a silacone swim cap they work better and last longer you can get it from racket and jog. as for makeup just reaply when you get out Oh and wear googles. you don't want red eyes do you? the lines can be covered up with makup. Humm a t shirt will weight a lot but if you don't feel confortable then go ahead and wear it but your going to have a hard time tring to swim with it on. Good Luck!

Wow, you worry way too much about this kind of stuff. You can swim on your period--I've done it many times. You don't need a bathing cap to swim, just let your hear dry afterward. Also, why wear makeup on a day you're going swimming? Most girls wear way too much anyway. I would wear goggles--makes it much more comfortable. As to the swimsuit, just wear the bikini if your coach will let you. Otherwise, you might have to buy a one piece.

Just enjoy the swimming. You're lucky your school offers it.
