Anyone know anything about cirrus clouds?

So basically this is all I can find, but I need muchh more.

"Cirrus" in latin means curl and these clouds are named because they resemble wisps of curly hair.

In cirrus clouds, water droplets collect to form thin curves with no clear shape. They look like curls of hair or string.

They are often a sign that rainy or snowy weather is on the way.

Cirrus clouds are found high in the sky (at about 18,000 feet or above). At this height, most of the water droplets in clouds turn to tiny pieces of ice.

You have defined what Cirrus is, so there is no point in repeating what you have said. However, I will try and give you some more information.

Cirrus clouds will not provide any precipitation to the surface.

Cirrus is often found in Jet Streams or from the out flow of large weather systems such as hurricanes.

Due to Cirrus being thin and wispy, a considerable amount of sunlight can penetrate them.

Cirrocumulus and Cirrostratus are related to Cirrus and Cirrostratus is the type of cloud that produces the halo type phenomena.

cirrus clouds appear as detached clouds in the form of white, delicate filaments, or white, or mostly white patches or narrow bands.

Cirrus clouds have been used for centuries to predict weather. Cirrus clouds are some of the first clouds to form ahead of a cold front, and are caused by the lowering of the atmospheric "ceiling". Typically, it will rain within 3 days of first appearance of cirrus clouds. Over the next few days, you will commonly observe a lowering of the cloud ceiling until you ultimately reach the rainy nimbus clouds.

I HOPE YOU FIND OUT WHAT THEY ARE DOING UP THERE!

Anyone know anything about cirrus clouds?

Cirrus clouds are in the high etage, so they are some of the highest clouds you will see. They can be thin and wipsy, or somewhat thick and cover the entire sky. When you see a halo around the sun or moon, this is being caused by a cirrus layer. You can see cirrus clouds moving in ahead of warm fronts and they might start to move into your area a full day before the front does. WIth a cold front you get much less warning from the cirrus clouds. Also when a thunderstorm reaches the top of the troposphere it produces a cirrus anvil the blows off the top of the storm in the direction of the movement. So if you're worried about a thunderstorm coming towards you, look for the anvil and see where it's pointing. If it's not pointing over you, no worries.
